Hi Bob;
    As you found there are other good options rather than recovering the
stock seats. Unless I was trying to restore a Rabbit pickup to bone stock I
wouldn't consider recovering the stock seats. I first tried a set of 1983
GTI seats and they were better than the stock Rabbit truck seats except for
one major problem. They have taller seat bottoms and I was always hitting my
head getting into the truck. I think if one looks around there are lot's of
options in later 80s Jetta seats that will work . There are more than
Corrado seats that the bottoms are adjustable.
