I just replied to Dave, but for everyone else's knowledge, there is a place
which reproduces auto fabrics. For a Mustang II Indy Pace Car fabric, it is
$175.00 a yard with a five yard minimum. Dave's is only $125 a yard.
I make NUTHING!! off of this pricing. Many upholsterers charge a
"cutting fee" because they don't make anything off of the sale of the
fabric.
A flat fee of $75 per yard also includes the incidentals which are needed to
make the job right. If one peels a cover off to discover anything broken
inside, the price for that repair will probably add a bit more.
This is the point where many turn a restoration into a daily driver. If you
want a TJ price, it always includes TJ quality.
I can still visualise the signs on the Supply Sgt's door.
Lack of Prior Planning on Your Part DOES NOT Constitute an Emergency on My
Part.
I am going to make a new set of covers for my Bunny Truck. If anyone wants a
set for two or even only one, I am going to be in that mode in about a week.
I am going to check my samples to find out which is the closest fabric. Mine
are black. Let me know if you are in need. If I "batch" build it will be
less than separate orders. I am going to go measure to find out how much
material it takes. Because my computer runs a diagnostic scan and
reboots, I leave nothing hanging open on it.
