[Vwpickups] (VSS) Vehicle Speed Signal pickup on speedometer for cruise control 83-84 speedometers

Disclaimer: Not versed in electrical testing and/or circuits, but do ask a lot of questions.

There is a two (2) pronged inductive pickup connected to the  speedometer that works with the standard VW cruise control.
Does anyone know if that device could be connected and used with the Audiovox CCS-100 cruise control system in place of the inductive pickup that comes with the audiovox?

Also, how would one test (without power source) the functions of the stock vw wand that has the On/Off Resume and Set functions?

My first guess is that the specs may be different since the VW system has its own computer box and audiovox has its own inductivev pickup, but thought I would ask anyway.

Gut feel says to either install complete VW cruuise control or complete Audiovox.
