[Vwpickups] Update on Lewis Grimes

Hey Gang!

I've managed to get in contact with Lewis. The State of California has decided that because Lewis isn't completely physically disabled but enough so that he requires assistance, that they have no place suitable for him and have stuffed him into a mental instituition. To say that Lewis is having a difficult time of it would barely cover the issues. He is not mentally incapacitated (unless you count his love for the VW pickup...in which case we should all be in there with him.)

The really sad part is Lewis is entirely dependent on the state and has to use an overworked public defender for the hearings on where he should be placed and how his case should be handled. Thus far, it hasn't gone well.

Lewis is hoping to get placed in a facility in San Jose but is not expecting things to go his way. He's pretty depressed, as you all can well imagine under the citcumstances. He surely misses having contact with the VW pickup group. In the crap facility he's in, they won't allow him his laptop or any form of Internet access. He doesn't even have a phone. I have to call the payphone in the main group room and they have to locate him. 
The last time I called, there was a situation where police had to be called to deal with some nutbar who'd lost it and facility staff couldn't handle. Pretty scary from what I heard.

Lewis wanted me to let everyone know how much he misses having some contact with us and that he's thinking of us. It'd be nice if everyone could respond with a short note and I can read them to him.
