It covers using rear air shocks from a beetle, you can pump them up when
under heavy loads.
Try the max air shocks, MA803 I will be trying those out this spring.
If you want to go low on the back but be able to raise it up I can sell you
a set of rear lowering plates also.

Subject: [Vwpickups] Rear Gas Adjust Shocks
Hello everyone!
Anyone out there have info on replacing standard rear shocks with gas
adjusted ones? Make, model or part number would be appreciated. I figure
someone has put a set of S-10, Ranger or Toyota gas adjust shocks on a Caddy
in the past.
When I put my 04 HD Softail Deuce in my Rabbit Pickup....well, I feel like
I'm driving up-hill all the time!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
All the best to you and yours!
Sincerely,
SMS Michael J. Bratton U.S. Air Force

I spend the last 4 hours attempting to get the gas gauge to work but have no
luck. I know the little 3 prong voltage stabilizer is good (new) the sender
is good, get fluctuation on the volt meter as I move it so I just want to
find a gauge cluster that is a known worker. Anyone that has one for an
81-82 diesel please contact me. I'm also looking for two side dash heat
vents/regulators in black as well as 2 sun visors in black as well as the
inside door releases and backing plates also in black.
Having a hell of a time finding some of the smaller pieces, screws and
bolts. But the motor runs great and strong, I just have no idea how much
fuel I have as I travel.
Thanks
Peter

Methinks that any fuel gauge (itself) from any Wabbit of said vintage
would fix you up. IIRC the gauge unscrews from the cluster. Dubious
if fuel type makes any difference, seems the sender is what would be
special.
And, if you have a good estimate of your usual MPG, just record your
odometer at fill up (you do this anyway, to track your MPG, right?
Doesn't everybody? ;) ). Odo Reading plus ( MPG times 15.0 gal.) =
Odo reading to fill up (somewhat) before, or chance an inconvenient
stroll.
I live dangerously. Odo is inop. Fuel gauge is of questionable
accuracy. And not my daily driver. One of these days, I will be
playing with this myself. Question is, how much extra exercise will I
get first? :)

Oregon has a sick new law. When a car goes to a wrecking yard, it MUST be
sold for parts. It can NOT be licensed again. There is a pristine p/u at
Autocraft here is Salem. Bruce can only part it out. How sad to see such a
beautiful truck out of existence.

Take your VIN on your pickup and put it on that one, or have it titled in
another state...
IIRC, Oregon is trying to outlaw the sale of tires from anywhere but the
dealer... The Greenies there don't have a clue.
