It all depends on what engine you have (IE, Gas or Diesel) and what ratios you have in the truck and what the ratio is on the tranny you want to swap in. On the bottom of the bell-housing of each tranny, there is a flat, machined section where it will have a code. Letters, followed by numbers. The letters are your tranny code, the numbers are the month and year it was made. Find out what each of those is, and let us know the type of engine you have and we should be able to advise you. If you are curious, you can go to scirocco.org and look at the bottom of the page. See the gears? Hit that, and it will give you a list of most of the trannys for Mk1s...
