Just wanted to drop a line and say thank you and give everyone that replied
to my post a follow-up. I got all the lug-bolts off without breaking a one.
A big thank you to everyone for their suggestions! Here is what worked for
me. I hosed everything down real good with PB Blaster and let it soak for
48 hours. Then I pounded on the ends of the lug-bolts with a big punch and
a 3-lb. sledge and re-sprayed with PB Blaster and waited another 24 hours.
I then took a 17mm impact socket with a 1/2" breaker bar, slipped a 3 ft.
pipe over that a cranked on them real hard. Everyone of them broke loose
and came off with no damage. This was a big relief to me and it saved me a
huge headache. Thanks again to everyone who replied. Seems like a simple
thing, but this is demonstrated proof of the purpose of this mailing list
and that it works.
Thank You,
Bill M.

Subject: [Vwpickups] Frozen Lug Bolts
All,
Does anybody have a solution for removing frozen lugbolts without damaging
anything? Mine will not come off even with an impact wrench. I'm going to
try hosing them down with PB Blaster and letting them soak today, just
didn't know if anyone had any other solutions.
Thanks,
Bill M.
