Do not loan your wife; your musical instruments, or your diesel vehicle. 
Fix the alternator related issue first, then check for oil in the radiator, 
or water in the oil after you have added water. You may have had a miracle 
that the head did not warp. As a Christian Realist, I would rather believe 
you have just had a very expensive private tutoring
session.  Put a clean dry piece of cardboard under the engine compartment. 
When you start the car, run it for a couple of minutes then turn it off, you 
hope for no leaks of oil or water. If you have show, the head will have to 
come off.  You might websearch for RACEWARE FASTENERS.  If you continue to 
loan your ride, you may continue to pull the head. The RFs are reuseable. 
They also keep a better tension (under less tension) than stretch bolts.
