[Vwpickups] standard ride height?

All I remember is there are several "color dot codes" that indicate spring rate or something, and the one for the truck is different from the regular rabbit and different from the GTI or gas vs diesel, etc. I have the same problem on the Sportruck - front is way too high. It has the "blue dot, blue dot, orange dot, orange dot" pattern, and these were free to me when mine had broken (rusted, so no idea what the dot pattern was before.)
As for a Golf GTI of the 81-84 vintage, ETKA says the code should be 3 blue dots. Golf/Cabrio/Scirocco should be either 2 green dots or 2 white dots.
Hope this helps. BTW - if anyone has a gas Rabbit pickup (or Sportruck) that has the stock springs that came with it, I would love to know what the dot code is so I can have the right ride height on mine.
Thanks,
-=Mark

I am not
finding any reference for ride height in Bentley. Or even spring rates. Only a caution to use the same group spring on both sides. Perhaps you are remembering all the body dimensioning(?)
